Where did it begin?

It all started with a request from a very dear friend to present a Chalk painting class to the ladies from Word of Life church.

Her reasoning, the ladies wanted what the children experienced with the craft days and fun days I presented.

Being in Children’s ministry for 14 years, I found presenting and teaching woman different.

At first the girls were quiet, with apprehension written all over their faces.

With the first brush stroke, their faces lit up. They chatted, laughed, shared, new friendships developed.  As each lady chose their stencil and added their finishing touches, their satisfaction and accomplishment, inspired and motivated me.

This is the type of art that creates upliftment, few knew they were capable of. Creating beauty around you, creates happiness and restores the soul.

Sourcing products and ways to empower women became my focus. During the Covid 2020 lockdown I started with inspirational Chalk painting videos on Facebook, sharing projects to keep the hands busy and the mind motivated.

Sparrow Vintage Art soon started branching out from the classes to stocking and marketing Stencils, Chalk paint, decoupage prints and various products providing crafters around the country with high quality products. Not only do we carry our own brand label, but stock other well-known brand label products.
